We’re expecting the Samsung Galaxy S10 to launch in the first quarter of 2019 – a while off, but the excitement is palpable.
According to reports from Korean website The Bell, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be codenamed Beyond.
The moniker will be used to refer to Samsung’s forthcoming flagship phone throughout its development process according to the site, which claims it has been tipped off by Samsung’s industry partners.
The name Beyond has been chosen because the handset will offer a host of features we’ve never seen in a Samsung phone, the website reports. In particular, it is expected to be the first phone from Samsung to include a fingerprint scanner in its screen.
With the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9, it was rumoured that the company was working on fingerprint-reading technology that would live underneath the screen. It wasn’t the case with either device, but reports suggest Samsung should finally crack the technology with the S10. There could also be 3D sensing module akin to that in the Apple iPhone X, although The Bell claims the “application” of this technology is “unclear”.
